Structural Retrofitting and Strengthening by Jacketing Solutions
Introduction
Advanced Structural Retrofitting and Strengthening by Jacketing
Restore Integrity and Enhance Load-Bearing Capacity with Certified Fischer Retrofitting Systems.
As infrastructure ages, the need for robust structural retrofitting and strengthening by jacketing becomes critical. Whether dealing with design errors, seismic requirements, or a change in building use, our high-performance solutions—powered by Fischer’s C-Fiber Force technology—ensure the longevity and safety of your engineering structures.
Why Structural Retrofitting is Essential
Correcting Design Errors: Bridging the gap between original design and actual structural requirements.
Seismic Upgrading: Enhancing the energy absorption and ductility of buildings in high-risk zones.
Corrosion Mitigation: Restoring concrete sections damaged by rebar oxidation and weathering.
Repurposing Structures: Strengthening slabs and columns for increased live loads (e.g., converting residential to commercial).
The Fischer C-Fiber Force Advantage
Certified Safety: Our systems are compliant with ETA (European Technical Assessment ETA-24/0281) and ICC-ES (ESR-4774).
C-Fiber Laminates & Fabrics: High-strength CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers) for flexural and shear strengthening.
Advanced Adhesives: Utilizing Fischer FRS-CS Epoxy Mortar, which offers a compressive strength of 85 N/mm² and excellent thixotropic behavior for overhead applications.
FiXperience Software: Technical calculations performed using REINFORCE-FIX (ACI PRC-440.2-23 standard) for precision engineering.

What is Jacketing?
Jacketing is the process of encasing existing structural members (columns, beams, or walls) in a new layer of high-strength material to restore or increase their original dimensions and load capacity.
1. Reinforced Concrete (RC) Jacketing
We add a new “jacket” of reinforced concrete around existing columns to improve axial and shear strength. This is ideal for severe deterioration or where significant cross-section enlargement is required.
2. Steel Jacketing
A highly effective method for enhancing ductility and lateral performance. By encasing sections in steel plates and filling the gap with non-shrink grout, we provide immediate confinement and prevent buckling.
3. Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) / CFRP Jacketing
Using Fischer C-Fiber Force, we apply Carbon Fiber wraps that provide high tensile strength with minimal weight.
Advantages: Corrosion-resistant, lightweight, and requires zero maintenance.
